Formally a good housewife, a woman happens to go to a dance hall with her friend one day, and eventually becomes a regular guest, ending up dating a libertine. Enticed by the man's planned seduction, she, morally ruined, suffers in agony. The libertine really loves her, but his friend threatens her with the pictures taken with the man to wring money out of her. With money extorted, she repents over her mistake and writes a good-bye letter to her husband when he enters abruptly and asks her what is going on. She attempts suicide several times after leaving her husband. The movie ends suggesting that her husband, who seemed he would never forgive, finally gives in and accepts her again.
